Thank You, Digital Citizenship!

Digital citizenship is when a person is being safe and responsible in an online setting. Throughout these past few weeks, this course has taught me the importance of being a safe and responsible online citizen, what it means to have digital etiquette, the importance of digital commerce and how to protect your personal information, and many other important information that's needed to know and understand. By having knowledge on these topics, it allows me to be more mindful and be able to share with others who might not be fully aware of these.

Some ways I'd integrate digital citizenship in my workplace might include:

  •  Sharing my experiences and knowledge when a colleague needs help with something that they don't understand or might not be aware of.
  • Remind my colleagues about digital etiquette, because although we can be full of jokes in real life, it might not always seem that way online. Having these tips and reminders would allow them to be mindful and respectful during an online setting.
  • I'd incorporate mindful minute activities to let them know that it's okay to take a step back from anything that sets a negative atmosphere that way it doesn't affect them during their time at work.
  • Share about online safety, especially when shopping online, inputting and saving personal information, and using public devices or wifi.
There are other ways to incorporate digital citizenship in my workplace, but these are just a few that stood out the most for me.

If you'd like to know more, here is a link that will clarify more on the importance of digital citizenship and using technology responsibly in the workplace. A short video is shared below that will be explaining digital citizenship as well.
